It wasn't often these days that their French Quarter compound stood so deserted. For various reasons, none of which really concerned Elijah at the moment, there were only two supernatural beings within its walls-- himself, and his sister Rebekah. Although the siblings had chatted a few hours ago, it had been in a much less private location, before the grand exodus. It was clear to Elijah, though, if he was reading Rebekah's expression correctly, that she wished to continue their interactions away from prying eyes.

That's what brought him to her room at that moment, slipping through the glass-paned doors into Rebekah's bedroom. Leaning against the door frame, he smiled. From the state of her on the bed, it was clear that she had been expecting him, even anticipating him.
